how amny gallons is that is a nice tank.. also what kinda filtration do you have?

I think it's just short of 12 gallons (54 litres). At the moment I have an undergravel filter working in there as I believe that the Rekord 60 internal pump is very unreliable (so my LFS tells me).

kool do you like the undergraval filter? I got one I dont know if u should put mine in my tank...

It's a case of preference. I don't think most people like them - but in small tanks I think they are acceptable.

Very nice-lookin tank. Nice job on that one. I recently got a 15 gallon and plan to have some real plants in there also. I like undergravel filters cuz they've been doin an awesome job for my other 5 gallon. I put up a post here but ppl said that UGFs do not go too well w/ planted tanks. I wanna have both plants and the UGF! How are u're plants doing w/ the UGF in there? They seem healthy to me but obviously u wud know better. Please reply!

I'd agree with you on the filter for it, mine goes up and down in flow speed sometimes fairly eratically.... At some point I will replace it but it's hardly at the top of my list of priorities as it works fine really

Go to most garden stores. Home Depot(or similar) or any other place like it. Thats where you get sand. I got 50lb's for about 3 dollars.

I wouldnt use beach sand (evan if you do put bleach on it, but thats just me...)

i see 3 shrimp also...

STOTM also, i dont think that undergravel filter will last long witch sand becasue it will get sucked down into it, (dont take my word iv never used undergravel filters)
