tomorow will be the day i venture the tropical way.

39 litre (10gal) tank

3kg mixed gravel/sand substrate

to get tomorow.

fluval1 filter

heater 50 watts

lighting ... havent decieded.

soem kind of decoration maybe

question: can i put plants in while cycling?

awesome il pick up a few tomorow then :) then i should have everything i need i hope!

Check the live plants very closely for pest snails. Pest snails have a bad reputation of hitching rides into people tanks and causing all kinds of havoc.

Best little hitch hikers in the world.

I'd even rinse your plants before putting them in. If by chance you miss some eggs just make sure to not let them get their "claws" sunk in because it's truely a pain to get them out if you have a lot of plants or decor. Plus, if you do get them be sure to check your filter. They will hide out there and keep reproducing.

Yep I would definately do that with your plants.

I have so many snails now it is unbelievable, although my husband actually wanted them in the tank! He loves the snails better than the fish!

done!

got a fluval 1, a heater 50w, 6 potted plants all for 30 quid.

forgot the light though doh :( il have to get that like monday and maybe some more substrate.

i wanna take the plants out the pots but they wont stand up in the substrate so im just goona leave them in pots for now!
