I think I have selected what species I want in my tank (Juwel Rio 125) which are as follows:

5x Mountain Cloud Minnows (already in the tank)
4x African fan/filter Shrimp
3x African Dwarf Frogs
6x Black Widow/Skirt Tetra
5x Zebra Loaches
1x Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid (or possibly 2?)

I use a JBL CristalProfi e901 external filter rather than the Juwel filter which I have removed.

So I was wondering is this a good mix of species, and is the number suitable for my tank size? Also I dont currently have an air stone in the tank as it is in my bedroom and the pump noise would be unbearable when trying to sleep. My filter output ripples the water surface and ive read that this is enough to oxygenate the water? I also have a live plant in the tank (Java Fern).

Do not put any plant fertilizer or additives since they contain copper and kill invertebrates. Only thing you can do for the tank and have shrimp is have good lighting. I think it's a little overstocked. Take out the Dwarf Frogs and you should be fine.

No I wasnt planning on using any fertilizers as I was told Java Fern's dont need them.To be honest the frogs are the reason I got a tank in the first place, so I dont really want to remove those. I chose shrimp to clean up the bottom, I guess I could just get the shrimp and not have any zebra's, although I really like them...

Make a all Frog tank.

Now that would be a bit dull wouldnt it! I was originally going to have 3 clawed frogs and nothing else, but decided I would rather have fish too so decided on the dwarfs.

I have done a test on aq advisor and it says my tanks should be ok for these fish:

With frogs I am thinking that you wont have enough current in the tank to allow the African filter shrimp to feed with their specialised nets/ baskets. Also Africian Dwarf frogs are slow eaters and and are easily bullied away from their food by other tank mates, Whit mountain cloud minnows would be especially quick to snap up any morsals of food meant for the frogs.

My pump is suitable for a 300L tank, I have plenty of current :) I have purchased arm length gloves and an extra long set of tweezers with the intention of using them to feed the frogs frozen bloodworm directly.
