Is This Sand Safe?

It says that its screened and dried so it seems fine to me. You just want to be sure that the sand is clear from any additives and has been completely washed and screened for any pathogens!!

I have been looking at sand alot lately and play sand generally always seems to be good.

The US is so cheap for sand!! :)

That should be fine. You can probably get it at a home improvement store like Lowes or Home Depot for less than that. A 50 lb bag goes a long way. I only used part of a bag for my 29 gallon tank when I first set it up. Be warned though that it is hard to wash. You will have to spend an hour or so to get all the dust washed out. Otherwise it will cloud your tank so much that it will take forever to clear up.

well i went to Agway and Grosmans, which are local stores, and they both had them but i wasnt sure.i want to get white sand but i think thats it for color

If you don't mind paying more, the Tahitian Moon Sand is great I have it in 2 of my tanks. I love the black substrate. It seems to bring out the colors in the fish better.
