I have 10 long-fin serpae tetras in my community tank (48"x16"x16"). They are really cool looking but their manners are not quite nice. They've been nipping other fish's fins madly, and most the fish in the tank now have ragged fins. Is there an easy way to catch them from the tank? They are so fast! :/

I usually put in some floating food and scoop them out from underneath them, kinda driving them to the top of the water where it's easier to catch them

Thank you, Tsi. I've been feeding them sinking type food ever since I got them. Will try the floating type and see if they come up. Thank you for the tip.

if you have a planted aquarium, it will be almost impossible to catch serpae tetras! one method i discovered is to place a large plastic bottle with the top cut off in your tank, and to chase the erring fish into the bottle! some people might disagree with my methods but after two hours of trying that was the only way i could catch this blue aradiss (spelling might be off) that had killed my favourite guppy!
