is it ok to put tiger barbs in a community tank if i put like 4 of them in my 55 gallon aquarium

depends. what other fish are in the tank? (what kinds and how many)

The only way I would recommend putting tiger barbs in a community tank is if there are at least 6, but a minimum of 8 is better. I definitely wouldn't do it with 4, not after seeing how nippy mine can be.
