I have 19 swordtail fry living in a 10G uncycled tank, and man, I'm getting tired of the water changes - them buggers eat a LOT. I have a 55G cycled tank with 7 danios, 3 black neon tetras and a common pleco that I want to move them to. My question is this: when is it safe to move them - ie., how big should the fry be? They are about 1/4" to 1/2" long at about 1 month old. I'm most concerned about them getting eaten or picked on to death.

I do understand that that is too many fish for the 55G when they grow up - I'll be giving a bunch away to friends.

By the way, 18 of them are red, and one is completely white. That's pretty cool.

In case anyone is interested, I went ahead and moved them. The danios were curious at first, not they just zip right by without even noticing them. The black neons pretty much ignore them too.
