Just wondering is there is anyone out there who prefers to keep their tropical fish w/ their fancy goldfish?

It's not a good idea either way (for both the tropical fish and the goldfish).

Some do some don't, but most prefer not to as for the temperature difference. Also goldfish can possibly eat small tropical fish sometimes.

In Asia a lot of people do as the ambient temperature is 30c +

Though in this case the Plec and the Goldfish could do without the heater.

That tank is extremely overstocked.
