interesting fish... but reading up on them also puts them out of my purchase range...

Sometimes when I read about fish, I feel like one of my nieces who really wanted a pony even though she lived in an apartment. It wouldn't have worked out. But she couldn't read yet.
That saves us, sometimes.

I'd love some a. d51 but i doubt anyone will import them in my lifetime. Some friends took a trip to Peru last month but they never left the city though they did comment on a nice transportation strike :)

So they have 3 degrees difference between "some" other oto's... Does it mean a death sentence at 80-82 ?

Oto's while they look like some loaches but, they are not. And I'm pretty confident that they will live at any temperature other oto's does.

It's my own opinion... But "steady parameters" includes temperature, in my mind. I wouldn't worry if the tank is not always maintaining over 80 all year long.

That would be a little high for many tropical fishes anyway.
