Inlet Pipe Too Short?

Hi all new here i have a eheim 2224 pro external filter and the suction pipe dont seem to be long enough, it stops quite short of the bottom of tank is this right? if not can you buy extra pipes? is there anyone oput there that can advise me please. jennie

Hi Jennie and to TFF!

Inlet pipes should be really no more than halfway down the tank. Should the filter fail, you can end up with an empty tank - or right down to the level of your inlet. This thread has a bit more along similar lines.
