Hi

Recently set up a Trigon 190 and put the Juwel backing in (its a bit bowed (didnt realise at time). Anyway.. a male Danio was harrassing a female on yesterday.. popped out for half hour.. on return the two had disappeared.. found one in filter.. got it out. The male had somehow managed to get trapped in behind the backing.. we found him at 10pm and he'd been there since about 12.30pm.

We had completely upturned the tank. Just as we were giving up (after looking solid) he came out of hte last bid we bent up..

Anyway.. he seems ok.. but has scraped loads of the scales off top of both sides.. no blood.. just scuffed. Will he be ok? what should I do to him.

We are buying a small tank today to transfer them in, whilst we drain and restick the stuff on differently (we followed the instuctions). How can I ensure he is eating ok?

Thanks..

If you're putting him in a tank on his own try putting flakes or frozen bloodworm in etc (what ever you feed him on) and watch him for a bit, I find most fish can't resist the bloodworm. Maybe worth adding some melafix to the tank to try and prevent him getting an infection.

He will be fine, Danios are extremely hardy.

I don't add anything to the water to help injured fish, I just make sure the water is as clean as possible, increasing my water change schedual for a while.

melafix maybe?

it's a natural way to kill the bacteria around wound, but wont hurt the good bacteria in your tank...or so I have heard

They are crazy about melafix on a puffer forum I read.
