i have a 29 gallon tank with a standard 20 watt bulb on it. Is there not a single plant i can keep in my tank that will survive? Im a bit short on money so i cant afford to buy all that fancy lighting stuff. it sucks when i see how nice other ppls tanks are with all the real plants.

Sure, there's plenty of plants that could do well in your tank. It may not look like a contest-winner, but it can easily end up looking pretty impressive, provided you choose the correct plants.

With the proper plants, I had pretty good results in a 46g tank with 30w of light, for about six months (then I upgraded the lights).

Most of the standard easy plants could do well. These include anubias, crypts, java moss, java fern, hygrophilia, hornwart, anacharis, and maybe pennywort, watersprite, and some swords (but probably not microswords, they need significant light).

Read Proven Performers it will give you a good list of easy plants that should work in your set up and are rather nice.

Thanks for the feedback! I think i'll go pick up a couple plants and see how they do. Hopefully my tank will look good enough for me to post some pics up. Again, thanks for the advice!
