I love identify rocks, but I can honestly say that one really doesn't get enough information from the picture to make a valid guess as to what the rocks are. Generally given their white/gray color and the bands of material in the first image I would say both are a type of limestone, but that is a major guess and it is still not going to be able to help you find the rocks you would be looking to use in your tanks, assuming that is your goal.

You can test it with vinegar, take one and let it dry a while before testing... If it's limestone, there will appear a calcium carbonate fizz on the surface.

If it's the case, these rocks are going to harden the water and have to be kept under surveillance. If the carbonate hardness of the water rise too much, I would remove them.

And go for more inert kind of rocks.

It looks like limestone to me. But again, as with the others, it's a photo. Go online to google images and have a look.

What type of rocks would you suggest that won’t affect the water ?

Granite, slate, dragon, lava, quartz, basalt, many river rocks and field stones are good, if it pass the vinegar test and has a solid finish that doesn't disintegrate easily.

Since slate was mentioned as a good inert rock it bears saying to make sure to get slate and not shale. While they are different stages of the same rock shale is softer and porous and not that good as it can leach. Slate is harder, smoother and inert.
