I'm trying to decide what to do with my 33 gallon tank. Originally, I thought I'd go for a planted tank and I haven't ruled that out, but I'm looking into other options and need some help..

In the post about Severums in the fish index (http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=61356) it says they need a tank of at least 30 gallons, so would I be pushing it if I just kept one on it's own in the tank?

If so, can someone suggest a good, medium sized fish which would be good in a 30 gallon. I like the idea of a species tank with just one or two occupants, but I have the sneaking suspicion I may be asking a bit much of my small tank.

Thanks for any advice.

Angle fish are good! 3 would be fine in that size of a tank, I've got 3 in a 30gallon myself...

You could get a pair of Rams!! They are very beautiful fish! It would look great to have a heavily planted tank with a pair of Rams and a small school of tetras.

Cheers for the suggestions. I've asked this question in the cichlid forum and done more research and have decided not to push it with a severum.

I've contemplated going the neon route - I have 15 in my 50 gallon tank which I'm considering moving over along with one of my plecs. I still haven't ruled it out... just exploring other options!

I'm still very interested to hear if anyone else has some suggestions for what I could do. I never thought I'd struggle to decide what to do with a tank! There's just too many options!
