So we got clown loaches 2 weeks ago. They've been in a Q tank since b/c they had ich.
I had thought they were getting better, but 1 died, and another was close behind it.
We got a trade in for those 2, now another is dying and there is still ich all over the other ones.
I don't know what else I can do.
I've been using Jungle Ich cure. It says to dose once.. if you still have ich, then do another water change before you add another dose.
So that's what I've been doing, and nothing is happening.
Think maybe I should try the quick cure again w/ a water change after a week?
Should I just stop trying the meds and try some aquarium salt instead? If so, how much?

I should also mention that the temp has been at 84F since I started to treat them. Also added an airstone to aerate the water b/c of the upped temp. Can't raise the temp any more.. highest that heater will go.

I'm just at a loss and getting frustrated b/c nothing seems to be working.

I would try another brand as it dosn't sound like that med doing much.
How long have you been treating, as half dose can take alot longer.

Been treating them for 2 weeks now. With the new brand, for 1 week.

I think we might have another heater packed away. Going to try to find it and see if I can raise the temp some more.
Also read on another website about using aquarium salt. I think I might try that instead of the meds to see if it does anything.

That one loach that I thought was going to die, did...... sigh. Found it floating this morning when I woke up. Poor thing :(

You can't use salt with clown loaches.
Are you using the full dose or half dose.
Clown loaches are very senstitive to whitespot med, and whitespot can soon kill them.

R.I.P.

The website I read about the salt w/ their clowns.
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/ich.php

I won't be using as much salt as them.. probably 2 tbs for the 10gal.
And I will definitely be keeping an eye on the loaches all day to make sure they're not showing any signs of the salt bothering them.

I've been using half doses w/ the meds. It didn't appear to be doing anything though.

Clown loaches can soon die with whitespot so its up to you if you want try the salt method, but I wouldn't risk it.
