Hi everyone. I would like to start a planted nano tank. with a Betta and maybe some neons.
I have seen the aqua one 320, which is 28litres. would this be good enough? I like the look of it.
Would a Betta and five neon tetras be ok or would that be over stocked?

Cheers brads

I think this forum would benefit a nano section as there seems to be allot of interest :D

I don't think those two would go together so well. Neons are nippy, and the betta would end up a sitting duck.

I think the betta would fight back too, which is another bad thing. A betta with, say, dwarf corys, or otos would be fine, as would 5 neons and 3 or so otos.

That sounds good to me. What abiut the tank though is it any good.

I've had that one before, it was a nice little tank - have now got the new Tetra AquaArt 30 - about £10 more, 30 litres

How did you get on with the tank? Was the filter any good? What did you have in there? did you have real plants? I do'nt really know much about co2 so I'm not going to use it. What plants would be okay in this sort of tank (aqua one 320 28l)?

Got on absolutely fine with the tank - believe I had to change the filter at some point as it was rather noisy, but otherwise okay, did the job, especially with the messy fish - I had some Dwarf Puffers in there and some Ottos.

Unfortunately only silk plants (converted to real plants fairly recently), have got real in the new setup...java fern, crypt (don't know the names of the others, but they're doing really well so far). Didn't particularly like the light in the tank, bit yellow, so went to my local lighting shop and bought a better tube (higher wattage, more white). Best place to ask about plants in there would be the planted section on here - would imagine java fern would be high up on the list as it's so easy to grow, not very demanding.

AquaArt I've now got has got an internal filter, but is a trickle one so it's completely silent. Have a Betta and some Albino Cories in it, so the lack of surface irritation is great for the Betta, but it seems to be doing the job - still testing it really as it's new to me to slide a filter cartridge in and out the back of the tank without getting my fingers wet !
