I Think My Goldies Are Breeding ?

I think my Goldfish are breeding.

We have a number of different age and size goldfish in our pond. Along with some ghost koi. I went out to feed them today and there was 5 (What i think) males on this female. (Im not sure oh sex just a guess) they were splashing the water every where and there tails. The females was being forced out the water and into the side of the pond. She got away to a save place under some plants and since then the males havent gone near her.

Is this breeding.

Whats your water temp?

Its pretty late for goldies to be breeding, mine were done a few months ago. But then again I'm all the way across the pond.

So whats your water temp and what have the air temps been lately (last few weeks)?

Sounds like it, the hot weather we had lately is the main trigger for them to spawn.

i have literally just got hundreds of eggs out of the pond and in a little tank and i caught my 2 big turtles at it too lol so we might have some eggs in about a year lol

the males have like little spots on there gill plates, breeding season is meant to be spring but it has been mild all year

hi yes thats breeding(spawning)
my goldies have have spawned about 5 times this year
if you look in the plants you will find eggs stuck to the leaves and pots, they will be in the filter and they will be stuck to just about every thing
they eggs will hatch within a week and within 4 days you should see little eyes and a squiggle in the egg once you see this the egg will hatch with days
