Hey, Im going to get 5 cory catfish for my 55 Gallon, but im not sure what type! I was thinking albino, but they arent very good looking. Does anyone know any good looking type of cory catfish???

Pandas are gorgeous, they are one of the smaller types aswell. Very cute and playful.

Another really good looking cory is C. Adolphoi which has lovely orange patches.

The pandas are prettiest, but if you like breeding different kinds of fish, other than the usual danios or guppies, albino cories, Ive heard, are alot easier to breed. I know that id have a blast breeding them, no matter how ugly they were. :D Although I dont think any fish is ugly, and most definately not the adorbale, little innocent cory. :p

Good Luck! ;)

Albinos ugly? No way!! lol nah I just got 3 albinos & they're just gorgeous...a little odd looking but I'd like to think they're just a bit different (much like me ;) ). Adorable & very active - I definitely recommend them :D

Albinos are very good looking IMHO they are very active and have great personallities I would go for them :)

I personally don't like the look of albinos either. Most people would reck C. aenus first; I just love my sterbais though.

Hi SilverDollar_03 :)

Do you have any interest in trying to breed them at some time? :dunno:

If not, any of the wide variety of corys that are available at your local lfs or by mail order will probably do well for you. Here's a link that shows pictures of them:

If you would like to try to breed them, and have experience with breeding egglayers, I would suggest C. sterbai or C. panda which might be a little more challenging.

If you would like to breed them and have no experience with egg layers, I would highly recommend that you get C. aeneus, either the bronze or albino. I like to think of them as, "basic corys." They are easy to get to spawn and are prolific breeders. The fry are easy to raise too. They are also very outgoing and playful, perhaps more so than most of the others.

Whichever ones you get, I'm sure you will get great pleasure from watching them.
