I Just Found A Platy In My Juwelbox Filter Dead!? :'(

Well i came into my room to feed my fish. Aspecting to see 4 Platys to come up and say hello and eat some food but no, only 3 came up and i was slightly worried. I looked all over my tank couldnt find him.. looked in the filter removed the top white pads and there he was dead. How could he of got in?

I have never owned one, but I have heard of people losing fish to that all the time. If they get too near it and aren't really paying any attention they can get sucked in. I had kind of the same problem on a marine tank and I fixed it by putting a piece of screen over the run off.

What hole.. the only holes are the 1 that is on the back but its stuck to the glass so the gap is about | | that big and through the pump whole but how can he get sucked into there?

o yea it could definatly get through there if there was enough pulling it through.

Well i added netting across the pump hole and netting across the filter gaps so there is no way in for them.
