welll i was wundering if i can put normal marbles in my tank as like a fish toy also make it better :hyper: if so do i need to boil it or sumit?

I wouldn't boil them, they might explode (there may be small air pockets trapped in the glass). Just make sure they are clean, and if you're worried, give them a bath in bleach solution - 20 parts water to 1 part bleach. Make sure you rinse them well after.

Agree with Dev, just clean them and bleach if worried.

Marbles were used in Danio breeding tanks once upon a time, the idea was that the fertilised eggs dropped between the marble substrate where they could not be eaten by the adults.
So the answer to your question would be yes, but obviously steralise them first via boiling.

boiling marbkles shouldent raise a problem, glass melts at a lot higher tempriture than 100 degrees C its more 500 - 700 degrees C (i think) but still beter to only do a 80 C then use the bleach solution to sterilise them.

thanks as a toy i mean that 1 of my fish often like to push gravel round the tank when the footballs on lol strange lil thing an i thought mabu it would like a nice round marble lol :shifty:

AFAIK Marbles are a common 'toy' for bettas. Marbles are made of glass (well, they were when I were 'lad) which is glass, i.e. silica, i.e. inert, i.e. as safe as the tank the water is in as that is made of glass too.
