I just joined up cuz a friend of mine said this place is the best.
I kept fish as a kid sadly it was three goldfish in a 2 gallon bowl with no filtration or plants so they understandably lived a very short life and although I tried a few more times as a kid I never learned what I was doing wrong until I got back into the hobby this June when I set up a 10 gallon tank that someone had given us and then I started reading on forums and rapidly became addicted and now I have a 10 gallon, 20 gallon, 30 gallon, and 55 gallon and I will be soon picking up another tank with fish in it that I believe is about 30 gallons. I've got eight zebra danios, some ghost shrimp and lots of baby mystery snails in the 30 gallon tank along with lots of anubias and a couple of different swords, in the 20 gallon I have a kuhli loach, a mystery snail and some guppies I don't know the exact number because it changes too quickly and fry is hard to count, in the 55 gallon I currently have lots of microfauna which I got out of a local lake, ghost shrimp, and about a hundred mystery snail babies which I'm trying to give away the majority of, and I haven't decided exactly what fish I'm going to put in it but I want to move the Kuhli loach to that tank and I've been thinking about ember tetras but I'm not sure if anybody locally has them anyway and I'm not really wanting to order fish by mail. Once I get the 55 gallon tank fully established and stable for a good amount of time with lots of microfauna and plants and algae I want to get a one or two clams. I'm contemplating going diving in the lake and finding one that way because I've seen shells that are close to 6 in so we've got some big ones here but I might just end up buying an Asian clam from the fish store.

Welcome! Your friend is a wise person. Stick with them.

You seem very keen on fish, and that's great, but if I may request, please take a deep breath and use more punctuation. Your post made my head hurt a little. Please feel free to post some pictures of your tanks! They sound very interesting.

Yeah sorry about the extreme run on sentence. I have a really bad habit of that. There are many things I'm good at and grammar and spelling and typing are not among those. 😃
I'll post some pictures tonight.

I could really use some of your mystery snails, one of mine died :/ Too bad we live so far away from each other.

I don't know where you live but I just got breather bags so that I can mail some to another member of a different forum. If you want some and you're within mailing distance PM me.
Edit: I see your profile says Florida I don't think that's too far to mail mystery snails.

I'd really like to get some floating plants going in the 30 gallon but so far I've killed two batches of duckweed and one batch of Red root floaters.

Yep, south Florida. It's in the 90s here so I wouldnt want to risk their little snail lives.

What is your light? How long are you leaving it on? What is your filter flow?

I've had multiple problems. First I put it in with goldfish which the goldfish loved but the duckweed unfortunately became dinner so then I tried to rescue some of that and put it in the 30 gallon with the danios which has an LED light and between the LED and lighting from the window beside it it gets a good 12 hours of light a day but I use an hob filter and keeping the duckweed from getting pushed under by that and from sticking to the sides was tricky and it ended up all dying.
I'll probably try again on the 55 gallon.
