i have a 36 gal tank and i have one long air stone that is about 5" and a another air stone in the corner of the tank plus the filter is that to much air flow for my fish will it hurt them or make them sick!!

Air stones have a 2 purposes, first, to create surface agitation, second - some people like them.

The amount of O2 that enters the water from the column of bubbles is very small, it is the surface agitation that promotes Oxygenation. As long as your surface has some agitation, then that is enough.

If you like bubbles, well fine, (can't stand them myself - look so artificial).

If you have so many bubbles that you are creating currents that your fish are fighting against, then you have too much.

Without seeing the tank, I can't say if you have too much, but hopefully the guidelines I've given will help you decide!!!!

My Cories play in the current of bubbles, they seem to love swimming hard down & floating back up. It's really fun to watch.

My Corys love to play in the current under the filter! They swim up and down and up and down...in circles... I have it on video...ought to upload it to the web page, eh? Maybe I should get a bubble wand/stone for in the 10 gallon and see what the Corys think. Hmmm.... :)
