The bottle should say, but if it doesn't you need to keep adding it for awhile. When the spots disappear thats when the parasite left the fish and went into your gravel/sand to breed. Only when the new guys are born and floating around the tank can they be killed by the ich medicine. Just keep at it for at least a week and the tank will be good soon
