How Long To Seed New Filter

so, added my new external filter last monday, running parallel wih the internal juwel filter.
have since added new sand substrate, got 100 new plants arriving on thursday and naturally want to plant them straight away.
question is, by then can i remove the old filter without the hassle of having to place old filter media into new filter?
or should i plant around it ?

what media does the internal have? can any of it be transfered to the external?

standard juwel sponges in internal guess i'm going to have to stop and open the external to swap some media over there should be plenty of room, probly take one of the carbon bags out and stuff that with sponge.

Thats sounds ideal, keep you rstocking as minimal as you can for the next few weeks, but that should be fine
