How Long Do You Spend In Front Of Your Tank Per Day?

How long do you spend in front of your tank per day?

I am about 3 hours.

I try to position my tanks in places you can spend all day at them. I have set up my 90gal right next to my computer desk so I can watch that(when set up) while on my comp. My 3ft tank is set up at the side of my couch for when watching T.V. I also have my 27gal high community tank set up at the side of my bed so it helps me get to sleep. Sad I know, just need somewhere besides the spare room for my 40gal now as this is my best tank at the minute.

So probably about 100% of the time I'm not in work or University

ummm i have a tank next to my bed, so if you count sleeping time that's 7-8 hrs already.... when i come in i tend to go check out all the tanks cos i have half an hr or so before ian gets home, in the evening i'll normally spend at least an hr watching the marine tank

good couple of hrs of actual awake time most days i reckon

Great question, and it's scary when you add it all up! I get in from work and I normally just sit infront of the tank (I have a lounger facing it) and feed them. I'll then just watch and it can be an hour or more before I end up getting on with other stuff!

I'd say at least 2 hours a day for me, more on the weekends when maintenance and fettling occurs.

Ha... seems like many aquarists spent quite a long time in front of their own tank ya.

Let me dump in another question apart from the first one, how frequent do you visit your LFS?

For me, mm.... 1 to 3 times a week.

yeah probably a couple of times a week, normally spend nearly an hr there too chatting to the staff quite sad really!

ooh, dangerous as my LFS is a two minute walk away! Still, they are closed by the time I get in from work so it's only normally a saturday.

Ha... what a sad case...
But is good also, otherwise you will spend more if visit frequently... haa...

Weekends a lot longer.

I rarely go to the LFS unless I need something, but sometimes pop into P@H on my dinner breaks because it is 1 minute from where I work and its something to do. Never buy anything from there though.

Just spent half an hour in front of my tank experimenting with the camara. Downloaded the photos, and nearly every one has my daughters hand print on it! Now spent another 10 minutes cleaning the glass

Weekends a lot longer.

I have a tank downstairs in the living room which probably gets 3 or so hours a night with me looking at it. And I also have my breeding tanks in the spare room next to my pc while I also play poker....which poker site do you use?
I was on paradise and party poker but have swithced now to betfair instead.

Hmmm...I spend at least 2 hours a day looking at mine as it's in the dining room, where we all eat. Often watch it while trying to feed my son!

Too much time spent in front of my aquarium.Wife is always nagging me says I spend more time w/those "Damn Fish" than her(it's True)LOL.To me its like TV only better it's always on the channel I want and no one can change it.Mine is in my bedroom right at the foot of the bed so I can "sleep with the fishes" Not counting sleeping time I'm probably at about 3 hours a day during work days and maybe 5 on the weekends.Sad I know!

Not as long as I did before I found this forum ,about an hour a day I guess but the really sad thing is I probably spend 20 mins a day watching my new 33g cycle

I also play poker....which poker site do you use?

Mainly Ladbrokes, but also Pacific and Party, not so often now but, Ladbrokes paid for my tank, inhabitants and all the improves I've made (Total approx £300) so maybe I should get back on a bit more. Then maybe not. I like the tank too much.lol
