I placed a bid on a tank on ebay a week ago or so, I lost the auction, but the auction did not sell as it didnt meet the reserve.

The tank is a juwel rio 400 or 450, i think it looks like a 400, but anyway its complete, filter, lights, heater, only thing it does not have is the juwel stand, as the owner is keeping it for a tv.

the tank is said to be 18 months old as well

I then got a second chance offer for the tank for £47 ! how good is that ?

I also asked what the brace looks like, and said it was in "good" condition, so should still be intact and fine.

as she said its about 18 months, so only 1 and a halve months old, thats nothing for a tank, but im a little weary about this.

but then again, even if the tank is 4 years old, 47 is still very good price.

I was wondering if the brace was to go, would it be replacable ? I would suppose this had to do with how old the tank is , as they have recently made the tanks differently, and some where not replacable as the brace was part of the tank, and not removable.

The reason I really made this thread is that I am wondering what "wrong" with the tank if she is willing to sell for such a low price

her reserve was 70, and buy it now 100. just the tank

So................. whats your guys thoughts ?

Maybe I'm a bit confused. Is she trying to sell you the tank outside of Ebay? If so I would be careful with this.

its a new-ish feature of ebay for the seller if there item doesnt sell. you can offer it to people that bid and came close to winning.

and saboy, ask her!

she mite need it movin asap or something.

remember the 6ft tank for £5?

Just so you know, Some second chance offers can be fake. Dont let yourself be scammed.

Scammers do it often with cars, they will see what cars other people sell, then create a fake second chance offer, then send it to the second highest bidder, saying that the Highest bidder pulled out.

I would only give cash when I collect.

Ok, SamUK: I will send her a question now then

Thanks

Bad News !

For some reason she ended the offer !

Oh well

But I sent her any email asking why

Good news,

i got an email from her, turn out there was some confusion with the message I sent her, but anyway it is still for sale, I said I can collect tommorow, and now still waiting for a reply !
