I want to know your opinion about fish like these

I'm not a big fan of parrot fish, they look very strange to me. I really don't like the idea of painting or dyeing a fish to achieve different looks. It bothers me quite a bit. I don't mind good line breeding to get color varieties or different breeds. People have been doing that for centuries, but the results take patience and are, IMO, much better to look at than the results achieved by painting fish. It is unfortunate that this is practiced. I do not buy these fish, nor do I encourage others to purchase them.

The parrot fish aren't natural either, so I wouldn't call them naturally beautiful.

i love parrot fish but i think it is disgusting that someone would have to inject (one way of painting a fish) there fish just to get the right colour. they dont look natural. i think if someone wants to get a different colour parrot then they should bred 2 different parrot fish to get the perfect colour.

It should be illegal.. simple as that. The sicko's who do this and sell them are profiting from animal cruelty and should be punished accordingly.

I'm verry happy because of your reactions.

I'm going to try to explain how we think about it in holland.
People in holland thinks the same about this as you, they think that american people and people from the UK like these fish, and because of that they are made.
I want to know if that was true(I don't believed it) and i tested it here at this forum(and a couple of other american aquariumforums) now I know that you don't like it neither. I will tell them that this is a good forum, and american people(almost everybody then) don't like these fish too.
I have to say(after to look to some pictures at this forum) that aquariums in holland are pretty different. nobody in holland has fake plants, they are al real. I want to thank you for this nice answerds.

Most people who buy the fish, don't know the process that the fish go through to get like that. And when they are informed they don't buy them.
