I just bought 4 small plants in rockwool. They are in small black pots. I have them in my 24 gallon guppy tank, but I have never had anything but plastic plants before.

Do I leave the plants in the rockwool, or do I pull it gently out and plant them in the gravel?

They already look shabby, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you can just hide the pots behind decoration.

or

be really tricksy-wicksy and hide the pot in a natural rock formation, like in a little cave with a hole on the top, and poke the vegetation out of the hole, while the pot is in the cave!!!

You should take the plants out of the rockwool. Once you do so, you may well find there are several plants and you can distribute them a little. I would only leave them in pots if you have fish that move the gravel around a lot, guppies tend not to fall into that category.

Ok, I have removed them from that nasty wool. You are right, there are many. The guppies are leaving them alone for the most part. They just look so much better that those horrible plastic plants! The new fry aren't getting eaten and I don't have to scoop them out into a net...they just hide! Thanks for letting me know what to do with these plants. The tank looks lovely! Guppy Mama
