How Do I Crush Flakes For My Fry?

I use my good ole' trusty fingers. :p Just rub the flakes in between your fingers, and you can get it quite small. Or, you could always alternately use fry food.

Am I the only one that doesnt try to raise guppy fry but end up with like 15 a month after each birth still? and when I try and raise them they all die or get eaten.

the 'rub them between the fingers' way always seems to clump the flakes for me...

So i crush my flakes by laying a flake or 2 on the palm of my left hand (palm up of course)and take your right hand (palm up too) and scratch the flake the going away from your body.

not sure if i explained it right, but.. scratch it with your nail (i have short nails) opposite the way you would scratch an itch, so the flake crumbles between your palm and the top of your nail.

running your nail across it just once or twice should make really fine crushed flakes and it worked for my fry.

I use a drugists (?) mortar and pestal to grind the flakes up real fine. It was a decoration and had never been used so I just put it in boiling water to make sure it was clean. It's a lot easier on my fingers which go snap crackle pop when I use my hands to crush the flakes. Oh the joys of getting older. (lol)

try to put the flakes in a plastic bag seal it and start to crunch them between ur fingers it shopuld take about 15 minutes to become realy fine . and u want to feed them just put the pin of of a tooth pick in the aquarium water and put it in the crumbeled food
then put it in the baby fish tank and move the water with ur finger to sink the food (DONT FEED TO MUCH)

I normally get the flakes from the bottom of the fish food container. I dont really like using my fingers as there could be some dirt on them, even after washing your hands, but using a spoon and jabbing it onto the food normally crushes it down a treat. Just put it under the steam of a kettle before useing it and dry with a paper towel, and you are in business.
