A few weeks ago one of my neons got NTD (i think). It died and i couldnt find it. It has probably rotted away by now, but will tank be ok?

If there are any bigger fish in your tank, the little guy has most likely been recycled.

Just out of interest, did you check your filter internals for him?

Dead stock's impact depends uppon what they died of, the size of the fish, and the size of the system  Large fish set-ups or small systems will be badly affected by a body in the system (both relatively judged to each other). Likewise, if a fish dies of a transmittable disease (NTD or fish TB for example) then the effects can be realy bad, as the other fish will try to eat the corpse, infecting themselves in some cases

:rip: little neon.

Hope things clear quickly for you if it is NTD

All the best

As the above poster says it depends on filtration.

I have 600 ltrs of filtration for my RIO 240 and i've never found some of my neons. I even found an entire skeleton stuck to my filter outlet the other day!!! Proper corgie job!!!!

Not ideal by any means, but i have lots of plants, massive filtration and a good balance of fish (ground feeders etc)

It depends how big your tank it. In my 100gal, a dead neon wouldn't be anything to worry about. In a small tank, then it would be a problem. How big's your tank?

I only have a 60l tank, and have lost 2 neons in the last 12 months that I never found. Both were really old and then just disappeared. No other casualties though
