Well , this past week - my copper girl ylennia has been showing horizontal lines quite a lot along her body.
She also showed them when I introduced her to Gabriel ( safely inside a tall glass chimney thingy of course ). Are they signs of stress or do they show a readiness to breed ?

Oh and - because I always get them mixed up , it might be helpful to say that horizontal lines are " up-down" . :good:

Horizontal Lines Are Stress.
Ive Just Been Told This Myself, And Think Of The 'Horizon' In Horizontal Which Is From Left To Right _________

Horizontal is side to side. Vertical is up and down :p

Horizontal lines are usually stress and vertical (up and down) are shown when a female is introduced to a male, and is stressed because of the male. Nothing to worry about. If they're up and down it's just because she's worried the male can get to her.

Horizontal (side to side) stripes is a sign of stress. Vertical (up and down) lines are not signs of stress, but can either be a sign of dominance or (in your case) readiness to breed.

Ok - so then she is showing vertical stripes ? Are these any good ? Here's a pic ;) EDIT - You have to squint - sorry bout the algae.

ahh yes vertical stripes is good :hey:

If you think of it as the horizon is where the sky meets the earth then horizontal being a line from left to right ;)
