I have three tanks, a 30 gal, a 20 gal and a 5 gal.
I'm happy with the 5 gal, it's a Betta tank, but the other two still need some work in my opinion.
The 30 Gal (115 lt) (36L x 12 x x 18h) has:
2 Female Mollies
1 Female Guppy
1 BNP
5 Panda Cory's
4 Platys (3f : 1m)
1 Pearl Gourami
At this point the tank is lightly planted, but I'm going out next weekend and I plan on spending fair amount on plants.
I want to add another Gourami and some schooling fish, like Neon Tetras or maybe Zebra Danios.
If I made the stock:
2 Pearl Gourami (Hopefully I can get another female)
5 Panda Cory's
1 BNP
4 Platys
6-10 Tetra's or Danios
Would the stock be okay or would I be over stocked in some peoples minds? I could always move the Platy's to my 20 gal.
As for my 20 gal (75 lt)
The current stock is:
1 Male betta
3 Otos
I'm planning on rehoming my Betta and I was thinking of perhaps getting a Dwarf Gourami or maybe some Barbs to put in the tank.
I'm pretty open with this tank, I want it to be colorful and interesting to watch
So if anyone has any ideas for what I could put in this tank (I figure I may end up putting my Platy's in here if the 30 gal is over stocked) But I'd like to add some other fish in with them is that's the case)
So my main questions were, I suppose:
Will my tank be over stocked if I get those fish I want (Another Gourami and 6-10 Tetras/Danios) and would moving my Platy's be enough to ensure the tank was not over stocked?
(Which would be better, Danio's or Tetra's as far as schooling fish go?) I'm partial to either, though if someone has another suggestion I'd be happy to look into it.
Would Barbs get along with Platy's in a 20 gal or would I be better to get a Gourami? I like my Platy's and I don't want them to have to deal with aggressive fish (As I've heard barbs can be)
