I've been working on setting up a saltwater tank... was doing a normal water change in a little 10g tank that only has 1 red platty and 3 cory. Noticed some weird stuff while I was cleaning and its FRY!!!! What do I do with these? I have a little breeder container that floats. Going to move them in there -- then what do I feed them????

give the tank lots of plants, live or fake, live would be better, but anyway finely crushed flake or bbs is fine for the fry, im assuming this is platy fry from a platy that has stored male sperm.

Yup, it's red platty fry! The funny thing is the mom has been in this tank alone for just over 2 months!

I found 6 fry and have them in a floating breeder plastic container. Crushed up some flake food and put it in. Funny thing here is there are a few more in the tank but they hide well! One is hiding behind the heater... This is awesome. Just hope they make it now!

if you only have 1 adult platy and 3 cory's then quite a few of the babies will probably survive even if just left in the tank.

you can buy a ready made fry food called liquifry and you could also consider making a brine shrimp hatchery.

feed them very regularly to begin with, every few hours, but only very small amounts and carry out lots of water changes too. the babies need to eat more regularly than the adults but the extra food can pollute the water.

Female Livebearers can store sperm for up to six months - welcome to the world of Livebearers!!!.
There's a liquid fry food for Livebearers called Liquifry No.2. That should be ok for a few weeks, then you can give them Tetra crushed fry food - it's worth it's weight in gold.
