Hi Guys

You might have read my other posts where i inheritated a tank a few weeks ago after a relative dies, however I just realised I go on holiday for two weeks and dont have anoyone who could come and feed the fish... what am i going to do can anyone offer any suggestions?

when i was gone for a week i left alot of flakes in the tank and put it by a window. they ate the flakes, and the ones at the bottom, and ate algae from the light of the window. worked for me :good:

spader that's not the best idea.

feeding them alot in one go will cause alot of ammonia and alot of pollution from waste. most fish can go for a week without being fed. feed well up until you leave, then do a water change before you go.

if you can get a auto feeder but test it first to make sure it doesn't over feed which some do.

Don't feed. Fish can survive 2 weeks without feeding. I'd personally much rather starve my fish for 2 weeks than get those holiday feeders that often enough mess up and by putting too much food in kill all the fish because of water polution.

If you don't feel comfortable about leaving them alone for 2 weeks, try and get someone to come in once and feed some flake food. Do make sure you put away exactly how much food you want them to feed on that day, and hide the rest of the food. People often feel sorry for the fish and put well too much food in.
