Hi, i just had a massive shock when i took a look at my tank today, i noticed my catfish has a hole in its tale  It is a clean hole with no freying, no signs of disease, its feeding and behaving normally, what could this be??? My camera is crap and i cant get a good picture so i got one off the net and marked where the hole is.

I have been treating for whitespot for two weeks and i know catfish are sensitive to malacite green, could this be the problem?

125 litre
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
20 nitrate
PH 7.4

4 adult platys
20 platy fry
1 bristle nose

Please help.

Just keep an eye on it. One of my plecs has 2 perfectly round little holes in it's tail and it's perfectly fine - he's had it for as long as I've known which is at least a year.
But just make sure it doesn't change or look like it becomes infected. It may even close up completley in a few weeks.

oh thats a relief, my lfs said the same so hopefully she will be ok, thanks for your input. I love the bottom quote by the way :good:
