well,
this is my first post here :)
after a couple of years ive decided to take on this hobby again.
well i d like to begin with a small 10 gall tank.
the biggest problem i remember having is the high temperatures we get in summer.
if i remember correctrly sometimes used to be 30-31 celcius.
is this really harmful for tropical fish? and are there any fish that can withstand well these temperatures? (im from malta)
also i intend to start with a couple of guppies. what other fish would you suggest to go with these?
thanks in advance

I'm not aware of any fish that would be happy in that temperature for long.

I would suggest choosing a spot in a dark corner out of sunlight, this is also a must for algae busting!
If you get a few rather hot days, turn out lights initially, then perform a few water changes with cold water, until temperature comes down, but do this slowly.
If you are consistently suffering with high temperature you will need to get a chiller, but they can be expensive.
Another alternative is getting a bigger tank as they are less susceptible to temperature swings.
