Hey All.

I've not posted for a while so i thought i'd share a story. I had 2 fish tanks up until about 12pm today. Now I have 1. Here Goes:

My sister is getting a new sofa tomorrow and to make room she needed to move the fish tanks that are in the front room. Not a big issue, empty the tanks, move them and refill. Job done. Well, thats what i'd have done anyway.

The tanks are (or were), a fluval duo deep 800 (Aprox 100l) and a rena setup (approx 300l). So they hold a lot of water each, not really ideal for moving full. My sister decided to move them full as she said i had no water conditioner to put in if she emptied the tanks. I've got a nice big bottle of prime, and a couple of others spare in case run out sat nicely with all my other fish stuff in the cabinet holding my rena. If only people read labels they could save themselves a lot of bother!!!

I got in from work at about 5.30pm and my sister had just spent the whole afternoon cleaning the entire contents of my duo deep from the front room floor, hallway and toilet. Several fish died. The cabinet holding the tank collapsed as she tried to slide the tank across the living room!!!!!! She also moved the rena across the front room using the same methods, how the hell the cabinet on this one never collapsed i never know, it must weigh close to half a tonne. I'm also going to give it about a week before the wooden floor in the front room starts to warp and the veneer starts peeling of.

Moral of the story, read labels and dont move full tanks, It will end in disaster. And Never Let Anyone Near Your Tanks!!!!

It's my worst nightmare to have a tank break or fall or the stand colapse. 200 liters of water in a 32 square meter apartment. Scary.

ah man thats poor, sorry to hear about that :(
