Help With Silver Sharks Please!

ok i have had 2 of these silver sharks for about almost a year and i have never had any problems with them at all untill i got a new one, ( I think? ) is he alot smaller then the other 2, i got him becuz alot of ppl have said they like there own kind around them, so anyways i change the water added some big rocks basiclly re-did the whole take and they were fine, got this new lil guy n now the 2 of them went into hiding while the lil one was alone for about 2 days then the 2 big ones started fighting which i hav never seen or heard of and now they all 3 sit in hiding n dont move! the lil one comes out to get food but the big ones dont. sorry for the long message but any help would be great! thanks


btw i have a 55 gl tank with 3 severums 2 blue crawfish n a frog

Water stats please, ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte, ph.

A 55g tank is not large enough for all those fish, the sharks need a 5ft minimum tank for full grown size, severums require a 75g minimum tank for one.

i dont know the water stuff i can take it to my local pet store today and i will post it later and the severums are small

ok i found my test kit and heres the results, pH was 6.6 - 6.8 ammo, 0 and nitrite was 1 or 2 i think "ppm"

What filter are you using.
Your nitrite reading should be 0. Is the nitrite 01 or 1 off the chart.
How often do you maintain the tank.

i have 2 of those bio wheel filters and i do a water change every 2 weeks, and on the chat for the test is was either 1 or 2 the colors were real close

I would carry on doing water changes till the nitrite reading 0.
Increase aeration.

I would maintain the tank once a week.

personnally i do a 15 to 30% water change weekly and never have any problems with the water stats. i have a 70g tank and my two bala sharks are fine and have plenty of room to swim around i also have a couple of sev"s and they breed like no ones business every 3 to 4 weeks so they are happy as larry. hope this helps.
