Help And Info On Giant Spotted Puffer

hiya as you can see i am new to this and this is my first post...
i would really apreciate if anyone could give me information on giant puffers as i think these fish are wonderfull and would like some training on them before getting one (or more) as i would'mt want to harm them.
the fish shop i was going to purchase my puffys from, have not metioned a thing about adding salt to the tank so could really do with lots of info.

Giant spotted puffer could be any number of species?

T.sabahensis
T. nigroviridis
T.mbu

Would be the ones I'd assume. Do you have a photo of the fish in question? Either way, those 3 fish above need massively different requirements, some indication as to which one it is will help. Can't really give advice on the fish if we don't know which one it is. A quick google image search should help

DURRR! dont i feel silly,so sorry it would be a green spotted puffer me thinks....i spoke to the fishshop owner agen today and he said they do not need any salt water ahh soo confused

Green Spotted Puffers definately need salt. You cannot use table salt, you need what is used for saltwater tanks; something like Instant Ocean. You will also need a hydrometer to mesure salinity. GSPs need about 1.012.
