Fish Fanatic
Hello,
Under circumstances(in hospital) I was unable to be home for a few months. I left the care of my fish tank to my fiance but that didnt work out. When I came back the tank was in ruins. I broke it down, cleaned it, bought a new filter and restarted the tank cycle with the fish I already had...I havnt bought any new fish since.
Well I ended up back in the hospital. Once again the tank was not cared for. My fault. So its been up for about a month and a half. Its only had one water change. Algea is covering the whole tank. None of the fish have died. I have 7 Harlequin Rasboras, 3 gold barbs, and 1 female Betta.
So I had help and wiped down all the algea covering the glass and changed out about 9 gallons(it is a 44 gallon tall tank)...I wasnt sure how much to change since the water had evaporated so low.
My testing kit is now over 6 months old so I cannot currently test the waters....Im sure the ammonia is off the chart.
Until I can what should I do?
Do I do small daily water changes?
Thanks a bunch in advance.
