35gal Hex so quite tall
5 black phantoms
2 Platys
1 gold gourmi
1 clown pleco
2 kribs
This set upm has been running unchanged for about 2 yrs Only thing is 2 platys died at the end of may.

So this morning I trimmed back and overgrown plant in my tank. ANd I notice a black phantom tetra with a cloudy eye. I have never had that problem. I tried to net him but no luck so I gave as it was upsetting the whole tank. So I went out a ran some errands 4hrs later I came black phantom is not cloudy all over with popeye as well. I have ick on all the other 4 black phantoms. My 2 platys both have ick and and my gourmi has a cloudy eye. Nothing has changed I cut the plant back and that was it Stress maybe but it was so fast on sick on in the morning now most of the tank has problems. SO I tested the water Here are the results.

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0ppm (Its a planted tank but never this low)
ph 6.2 (Has always been 7.0) No clue why its changed

So some of my numbers have changed. I only add declorinator nothing to change the ph or any thing else. I am I doing a water change at this moment about 30% Hopefully enough to bring up my nitrate for the plant too. And the ph. Is all this just stress I have added no new fish it 3 months. I am looking for suggestions right now what was my hospital tank has 2 bettas and a devider in there. the 15 gallons has a little guppie colony in it. The tank currently has been dosed with melafix because I thought it would help the 1st black phantom. But I have no idea where to go except a water change.

How often do you perform water changes?

Cloudy eye, and popeye often occur when the fish are stressed or there water quality is bad. A bacterial medication will often help clear up the cloudy eye and popeye.

Also ich is brought on because of very high stress in the tank often and new water parameters.

25% every 3 weeks my tap water ph is 7.0. I have no idea why it dropped so far today. But I did a water change and it bought it back up to 6.8. The lowest my ph test goes is 6.0 and it was immeadiatly that color so I thing it may have been some where is the 5 range. until I get this sorted out though I will be test in every day. I have lost 3 fish and everyone looks terrible. At the moment as the is hardly an ick I am trying not to have to medicate. I did a 30% change earlier. And I think is saved one of my fish as it was on its side in my plants when I did it now its hanging out in a corner but alive at least. Here hoping I was almost in tears earlier I have losing fish to something like this. I don't mind old age but death because I screwed up makes me feel horrible.

check your tap water's ph again, ive had a problem similar to this when my tap water went from 7 to because my water company ws cleaning pipes in the area

Possibly old tank syndrome...
The excess of hydrogen ions released during the nitrification process and built up over time makes for a steep decline in PH....
If nothing else works you'd be best doing 100% in one go (risky) or 200% water change over the space of a week to get things back to normal....

The tap water is currently 6.8 which is a change from 7.0 but not to big last nights water change was more than 33% last nite my husband wasn't paying attention. More like 55%. Only one dead fish this morning one oto. But the platy that was on her sides in the plant last night is cureently swimming around so maybe I am done losing fish. I have to get some more decolor but I wil.l do another change tonight. I never treat anythingwater or anything else. The way my tap comes out is the way it goes in. Except declor.

If your ph is up and down so suddenly i'd still keep an eye on it,and keep up a strict one week daily water change regime. With or without chemical etc. additives(?) your tank can still suffer from OTS.
have a look at this link.
Also i'd strongly reccomend the dechlor in my sig (SeaChem prime) as pretty much the cheapest and best going.....
