In Montana ? With all the fishermen here it wouldn’t get a second look from anybody . But . . . . I’m not a hat wearer so no . Hats are the number one cause of male pattern baldness and just plain old full baldness . They trap heat and kill hair follicles . Don’t anybody argue ! It’s fact !

So that's why my husband is going bald. He claims he needs his beanie in winter because now he's going bald it keeps his head warm; and a cap in summer to stop his head getting sunburned now that he's going bald. He claims the hats are because he's going bald, not causing it

His mother used to blame the crash helmet he wore riding his motorbike when he was in his 20s.

Yep , guys that wear hats have every excuse there is to keep wearing them . In addition to the heat retention killing off your hair follicles they don’t let the life giving rays of the sun in to rejuvenate them either and the cold is a good thing too . Cold helps your hair in the same way that cold and winters dormant time makes trees , flowers , bushes and shrubs bud again . I’m 70 years old and have a full bushy head of hair and my Dad passed away at 85 with a full bushy head of hair . He wasn’t a hat wearer either . And before somebody chimes in with genetics or some imagined predisposition to baldness , I ain’t buying it . So go wear your hat if you absolutely have to but don’t come crying to me about being bald . I warned you .

Our younger son is going bald in his early 40s. To hide the fact, he keeps what hair he has very very short. But when he was younger every time he washed his hair he'd put a baseball cap on "to keep it straight while it dried". I'll have to tell him that's what's caused him to go bald at his age ;)

And there’s another thing . Surprised I didn’t mention it . Guys should not let their hair go hippie . Long hair is more susceptible to falling out for some reason . Next time you see an old hippie with a ponytail note how thin his hair is .

Hats make you bald, long hair gets thin, man buns make you gay. I stick with high and tight and only wear a hat when I need a haircut.
If I ever go bald I'll use ear hair for a comb over. It grows fast.

I keep getting told to wear a hat, which I do. The other option is endless liquid nitrogen shots for pre cancerous growths, and they aren't good. I am horribly pale and have real trouble with 'sun spots'.

My baldness was caused by keeping fancy guppies in my teens. They pull mystical hair power from a guy to feed their fancy tails. Bettas can do the same.

It's true, you know.

I hope nobody thinks I have a low opinion of bald guys or that I’m making fun of them . Nope , not at all , it’s just that if a guy has a nice head of hair and he sabotages himself it’s a shame . Like a fit young man becoming a weak blob when he could’ve done something about it . Telly Savalas and Yul Brinner ? Those guys were maximum stud hombres !

Bald men are very good at making fun of themselves. We don't need help.

I was a High School teacher. One of my young delinquents once said "Sir, you're like a church to us."
I said "Why is that?"
He said" Because we see your dome shining in the distance."
