Hand Feeding Platys

my platys i have in my current tank are extremely friendly and welcoming to hands in tank when cleaning ect ect

i just decided to hold a few flakes in the water and they loved it

is this usual behaviour for platys?

mine seem to be extra friendly

Platys are friendly little fish and will do anything for food. They soon come to trust their owners and will accept being hand-fed etc. It's a lovely thing being able to hand-feed your fish!

yeah, its not something ive ever been accustomed to TBH

ive previously had moody fish(barbs, pirahnas) that you couldnt go near the tank with

first time ive ever seen fish that can be fed by hand in a home aquarium

as well as my platty, i can hand feed my kissing gourami

I can hand feed all my fish, excluding the 9 zebra danios I got yesterday, they haven't become used to me enough yet, but I'm sure they will be eating from my fingers soon .

In fact, I find it extremely hard NOT to hand feed my angelfish, he even jumped out the water and took bloodworm from my hand once .
