HI i was looking at my female guppys and i can see the gravid spot from across the room and when you get close to the felmale guppys u can see in side the gravid spot lots of white dots are these the babys eye and when is she going to give birth. Ive just set up a 5 gallon tank with filter and heater today but the tank will proberly not be ready until next week so what do i do if she give birth before then. or is there anyway to build a breeding net at home or do anyhave other solutions

Please help! P.S these could be my first ever ive breed fish

Mr-Pig :-(

Buy a net breeder then to place the fry into if she gives birth before the new tank is ready. Yes the black gravid spot is the guppies eyes. Just keep an eye on the gravid spot if you want to keep some fry and when you think she can't get any bigger unless she bursts you'll know she's about to have some fry! She will also appear almost "square" if viewed from behind.
Good luck with your breeding adventure!

So when are they likely to give birth daytime, morning, nightime

Times of the day have no impact its like a human pregnancy you can estimate it, but it could happen any time around you estimation.

Usually with my experiences they drop in morning or night, sort of like horses. they try thier hardest to have them when you're NOT there. It doesn't really matter, though. Is this your first guppy birth? If you really want to be a good breeder you can get a self cleaning breeding trap.(I just got one of those today) :hyper: I'm not so fond of the net ones, but I guess they work. Tell me about the new tank.

the tank has a filter in the corner well planted and the temp at 25C

when the tanks ready and i put her in what happens if she doesn t give birth in acouple of days should i leave her in there

this is my first guppy birth the other female gave birth when i was a sleep and the fry were eaten

This is exactly the same situation I am in, my first one gave birth when I was asleep, all fry presumed eaten, I put a 2nd female in a birthing net about 1 and a half days ago and she still looks about to burst.

Should I leave her in there?

i left mine in the breeding tank for 2 days and she still looked like she was going to burst she looked bored so ive taken her out and put her back with the other fish that was 3 days ago and she still hasn't gave birth yet

so i don't know what to do
