Guppys Killed Via Filter Tube

I woke up this morning and found two of my guppys dead, apparently they were sucked into the filter tube, they got sucked onto the screen. What can I do to keep this from happening?

IMHO Whats more likely is that the guppys died and then got sucked up into the filter, normally healthy fish like guppys will not get sucked into filters.

I was thinking along those lines, these were good sized guppys so ya know I don't they are gonna be overpowered by the suckage of water.
