So this is what their new tank looks like now. I'm not great with plants but maybe this tank won't die on me. Does it look okay for the little FEESH? The males I've noticed sometimes seem to fight but not too badly.

nice, very cute, are there enouhg females? the males may be trying to breed with other males as there are not enough females, it should be 1 male to 2-3 females.

Looks gorgeous! Love the rainforest-y look.
And fighting amongst male guppies is pretty regular, but they can wind up doing horrible things to one another if you've got too many without the proper ratio of females to males. Like @Sgooosh pointed out, you should have a ratio of 1:2 males to females with guppies.

dont worry if you already have a big school of guppies, its hard to maintain stuff as some mutt guppies look very similar... have 2 males who are always play fighting with each other. is this a new tank? when i add new fish, they seem to fight and reset the pecking order

Ooh I've got eight males (no females in the tank) and there's one poor fellow that's been absolutely brutalised by the others. He swims alone now, away from the others. He'll be the first to enter the tank with my girl guppies in a few weeks! Special treatment for the grief he's gone through lol.

I got the guppies as all tiny parasite looking fry in December. They've been in a 3 gallon tank until they outgrew it recently and I moved them here.

They're all from the same I guess "litter" and are all siblings. The ratios are about 50/50 or maybe 60/40 with more females than males. But probably about 50/50. One of the males got beat up and his tail nipped all off back in their little 3 gallon tank and it kinda still looks bad but he seems okay. They do fight a bit but it usually isn't bad.

I guess I could give some males to the local Petco I guess... If the fighting gets too bad.

The males are VERY distinguishable from the girls actually. The males in these mutts have HUGE HUGE colorful tails and the girls are fat little mugs with short tails. They just move about so fast that I can't get an accurate headcount.

Also there's a lone Harlequin Rasbora in there. I got a group of them from Petco and all were sick and despite treating them - they all died except him. After research, I learned Rasboras weren't ideal for my tank size anyway so I went with Guppies. But I kept the little man and he's still hanging in there. He doesn't bother the guppies at all from what I have seen.

no, i mean that some males are the same. you might want to get another tank with a nice school for him :). he can hang in there though, might be happier with a school. does he hide all the time?

He never hides but he isn't friendly with the guppies in a schooling way like they are with one another. He swims around and minds his business.

I have a 55 gallon with a very mean medium/large Blood Parrot and some Acaras, and an outdoor small pool with goldfish. I have an extra 20 gallon LONG but no where to put it and no time to maintain it right now.
