Hey,

I've got 2 female guppies, the larger one which was recently pregnant is now constantly hiding in a tube in the aquarium, doesn't eat any food and has lost the colour in her fins. Should I be worried by this?

Water levels:

Nitrate 15ppm
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
ph 7.6

Last water change saturday afternoon, added a algae remover chemical last night. but she had disappeared into her tube before then

How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.

Has she gone pale on the body.
Any red streaking in the fins.,
Are red edging to fins.
Any white edging to fins.
Are her fins clamped to her body.
Do the fins look sticky.
Do the fins look cloudy.
Any holes in fins.,

Hey,

It's a 63 litre tank (about 14 gallons?)

3 Guppies, 1 Angel and a Swordtail.
She's got white edging to her fins, no other symptoms you mentioned.
Just fed them again, and she didn't eat a single thing, and is still hidden in the pipe.

Angel fish need 20 gallon tanks for a pair.

White edging to fins is bacterial finrot.
Can you issolate the sick fish.
Bacterial med but not melafix. Melafix is only good once fins are healing.

Hey,

I've just got Interpet No.8 - Anti Fungus & Fin Rot

It says to remove the filter before usage, how long do I need to take the filter out? I'm worried i'll kill off all my good bacteria and end up in a horrible cycle.

That not a very good med on finrot.
All you remove is the black carbon.
Don't remove the filter.

I've used the interpet med and you only remove the black carbon.

She's not looking good this morning, resting vertically on a plant in the aquarium.

UPDATE :

White stringy poo and she's falling on her side when swimming

What do you feed your fish.
Long stringy white poo can be constipation, bacterial infection, internal parasites.

Dosn't sound like she going to make it.
Hows the fish now.
