HI

I have a 120L tank with 5 guppies (all male!), 5 diamond tetras, 5 platy's, 1 blue phantom plec and 3 Burmese Loaches. 1 week ago the male guppie's started loosing chunks of their tails, 1 died. At first we thought it was the tetras but it wasn't it was the guppies themselves! So I got some females for the boys. They went in on Saturday and since then nothing but trouble! No tail biting anymore but 5 of the females have died and 1 of the males I've had for ages! I just don't understand it! All the water levels are fine and water changing has been done as usual once a week!! Any advice would be great, he says as another female starts to float a bit too near the filter for my liking!!!

Cheers

Jon

Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Finrot can be a secondary infection meaning something else is going on.
Lost any fish to being really skinny.
What does it look like when the guppys go to the toilet.
Check the anus of the fish to see if its enlarged or red and inflamed.

Is there any flashing? Rubbing on rocks
Any red streaks?

Can you get any pictures of the guppies?

Yes, we do need to know your exact water parameters first before we can suggest medicating.
