grwoth rate of goldfish

ive had my new goldfish for about one month and hes grown ALOT scence i got him. he grew likw 1 inch. is that normal? how long will it take him 2 get really big? btw hes a commen goldfish

Under ideal conditions they can reach adult size in 6 months but ideal conditions for Goldfish are rare.

As Teelie says in ideal conditions their growth rate is considerable more than you might think, in optimum conditions they can reach 12" when fully grown. Ofcourse diet affects the rate of growth as well, high protien diets are often used to increase fish growth.

Sadly most Goldfish aren't kept in such conditions so their growth and general health suffers.
