I was wondering why green neon tetras arent more popular than neons/cardinals as their stripe is so much better and vibrant. Surely there must be some drawbacks???? thz

saw these im my lfs last weekend, they looked amazing if i had my planted tank still i would of had them.

Green neon's - Paracheirondon simulans
are generally wild caught therefore most of the time being a seasonal fish. Ive been trying to import them at where i work and they are still not being fished shouldn't be too soon now tho. They are not as hardy as normal neon species but shouldn't be hard to keep in a matured softwater aquarium, ive found tanning the water helps allot with stress on them, and as silly as it sounds can colour them up better.

Great fish !!!!!!!!!

my lfs had the wild ones so if they are seasonal you should get them on your stock list soon.

anyone know how much these go for?

Cheers for that mate,

i usually sell them for around £2.00 each bit more expensive than normal neons but well worth it.

Maiden head aquatics have them in (only place iveever seen them) they are gorgeous and still relatively easy to keep, plus they stay small so you can have more.
Teamed with lamp eyes they create a wonderful viewing. i have some with guppy's, rummy nosed tetras, lamp eyes and golden white cloud mountain minnows (gwmm's from maiden head) all looks gorgeous :D well planted to so occasionally you see the odd tiny baby :D
